Hydrogen Water Machines

A hydrogen water machine connects to your kitchen water line and dispenses water with dissolved molecular hydrogen on tap, so there is no bottle to charge and refill. Echo makes three. The Echo H2 and Echo Ultimate filter your water through a 5-stage cartridge first; the Echo Flow is a filterless hydrogen water generator that sits after the reverse osmosis or whole-house filtration you already have.
How to choose a hydrogen water machine
- Countertop: the Echo H2 and Echo Ultimate sit on the counter and connect to your existing faucet with the included diverter valve, with no plumbing work.
- Under the sink: all three can go in the cabinet. The H2 and Ultimate need a dedicated Echo faucet for this. The Flow installs only under the sink and can feed an accessory faucet, a refrigerator line or an ice maker.
- Whole-home: Echo's hydrogen water machines are kitchen machines, not whole-house systems. If you already have whole-house filtration or reverse osmosis, the Flow is designed to sit after it; if not, pair it with the ECHO RO or choose the H2 or Ultimate. For whole-house filtration, see whole house water filters.

| Echo Ultimate | Countertop or under-sink | Up to 1.46 ppm | 5-stage cartridge | 1.0 L/min | 10 × 9 × 15 in; 14.7 lb | 10 years |
Echo notes that hydrogen concentration and filter life vary with source water and usage. To read how hydrogen water is being studied, see What is hydrogen water? on HydrogenStudies.com.
What's included and maintenance
The H2 and Ultimate each include an accessories box (spout, elbow, Teflon tape, diverter valve, outlet hose, dust pre-filter, color chart, pH test kit), a power cord, an instruction video and a digital manual. The Flow is sold alone or with the Echo RO/Server Faucet.
- H2 and Ultimate: replace the 5-stage cartridge at its rated 1,056 gallons (4,000 liters), about a year for most households according to Echo, with the Echo Machine Replacement Filter for your model. The optional Echo Cleaning Cartridge is a citric acid solution for removing buildup.
- Flow: there is no filter in the hydrogen path. Keep your upstream filters on their own schedule; Echo's warranty requires that prefiltration.
Hydrogen water machine FAQ
Hydrogen water machine or hydrogen water bottle?
A machine stays in the kitchen and dispenses on tap, at 1.0 to 1.2 liters per minute on Echo models. A bottle such as the Echo Flask is portable: you fill it, run a cycle and take it with you.
Does it change the pH of my water?
Echo says the H2 and Flow dissolve hydrogen gas into the water without changing its pH. The Ultimate also has separate alkaline and acidic settings.
What do I need for an under-sink install?
A matching Echo faucet (the Flow also pairs with many third-party accessory faucets), a power outlet and, for the H2 or Flow faucet, a 15/16-inch to 1-inch hole in the counter or sink. The faucet sits beside your main tap rather than replacing it.
Does the Echo Flow work with well water?
Echo lists unfiltered municipal or well water as not supported; the Flow needs a reverse osmosis or whole-house system upstream.
