The Beginning

Paul Barattiero founded ECHO after witnessing his wife's chronic health challenges improve dramatically when she began drinking hydrogen-rich water. Her struggles included thyroid issues, gynecological concerns, anemia, and short-term memory problems. Driven by that transformation, he immersed himself in molecular hydrogen research and created ECHO to bring this science into everyday life.

Hydrogen is Recognized

The landmark Ohsawa paper — "Hydrogen acts as a therapeutic antioxidant by selectively reducing cytotoxic oxygen radicals" — is published in Nature Medicine, marking the moment hydrogen gas is first recognized as a legitimate therapeutic molecule. This study establishes the biological plausibility of molecular hydrogen and sparks what will become 1,500+ scientific investigations into its effects.

Paul begins development of the first products.

The Echo 7 becomes the brand's first official product launch, soon followed by a series of advanced, next-generation devices.

ECHO creates hydrogenstudies.com to organize all the research on hydrogen water and share what the science is really showing. It became a big step forward, the first simple, reliable place where anyone could search, read, and understand hydrogen science for themselves. Echo Go+ was the first device that made hydrogen therapy simple, affordable, and easy to carry with you without compromising on clean and healthy quality.

Dr. Paul brings in Josh Carr as CEO and a new ECHO is formed.

Breakthrough Moment

Gary Brecka's first Joe Rogan appearance in November 2023 becomes a major moment for the hydrogen-water world by telling millions of listeners that hydrogen water is the best water you can drink while specifically mentioning his ECHO device. This pushes hydrogen therapy into the mainstream.

ECHO builds a fully US based customer service and fulfillment team to provide to give people real support, not just a product. With dedicated care, fast responses, and the best warranty in the industry, ECHO stands behind every device long after it leaves the box.

The ECHO Flask is launched as the latest evolution in ECHO's commitment to make real hydrogen therapy simple, portable, and powerful. It combines advanced PEM/Nafion technology, high hydrogen output (8PPM), and never been done smart features in a premium, travel-ready design. It's the culmination of years of innovation; bringing lab-grade hydrogen water into a beautiful everyday bottle.

Kick Off Research with Andy Galpin, PHD

ECHO engages exercise physiologist Andy Galpin, PhD, to fund an independent, third-party clinical study assessing the physiological effects of hydrogen-enriched water to continue their mission of bringing more scientific rooted education to masses.

Launched Pre-Orders for the ECHO One and ECHO Forty

ECHO opens pre-orders for its two most ambitious devices yet, extending real hydrogen therapy from the tap to the largest portable format available. The ECHO One brings whole-home purity and on-demand hydrogen generation together, pairing 5-stage reverse osmosis and UV purification with up to 4 PPM hydrogen-enriched water straight from an under-counter system. The ECHO Forty carries that same commitment on the go, delivering up to 6 PPM hydrogen from an industry-leading 40 oz smart tumbler built with a premium PEM membrane and platinum-coated titanium electrodes.
